About

Katie is a Research Assistant at the Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP). At CRASSH, Katie is investigating the relationship between citizen scientists, experts and policy makers and ways of rethinking citizens' participation in the scientific and political processes. In particular, she is exploring the opportunities and barriers for policy makers to make use of recent citizen science experiments. Bringing together policy makers, practitioners, scientists and scholars, she and Rob Doubleday will facilitate policy forums focused on the uptake of citizen science in policy making.

In her role at CSaP, Katie contributes to a range of policy fellowship and academic research programmes aimed at improving public policy through the more effective use of evidence and expertise.

Katie holds degrees in history and philosophy of science and medicine from the University of Cambridge and Harvard University.
