Online event facilities
Currently, we are able to host events online and we hope we will be able to offer hybrid and blended conferences and seminars soon. We can offer facilities on Zoom and Teams and are open to facilitating events on other platforms.
CRASSH is able to use rooms in the Alison Richard Building, depending on availability. Facilities in this building are shared between CRASSH and other centres. There is very limited availability during term time for events and a greater availability out of term.
The Alison Richard Building is the West Road gateway to the University’s Sidgwick Site, the main base for humanities and social science teaching and research at Cambridge.
SG1 is situated on the ground floor and has a capacity of 70 seats, complete with state-of- the-art AV facilities. Combined with SG2 this can go up to 110 seats.
SG2 is situated on the ground floor and has a capacity of 40 seats, complete with state-of-the-art AV facilities. Combined with SG1 this can go up to 110 seats.
S1 is situated on the first floor and has a capacity of 40 seats, complete with state-of-the-art AV facilities.
The Atrium is used as a social space where coffees, lunches and drinks receptions can take place.
At CRASSH we endeavour to make our activities as accessible as possible, in line with the BPA/SWIP guidelines on accessible conferences and events.
The Alison Richard Building is located on the University of Cambridge’s Sidgwick Site and has step-free access. The main seminar rooms (SG1 and SG2) are located on the ground floor of the building and accessible toilets are available on all floors. Disabled parking is available outside the Alison Richard Building.
General accessibility information about the Sidgwick Site, including disabled parking, is available on the University’s Disability Resource Centre website.
We would typically be able to waive registration fees for personal assistants to disabled people, and service animals are welcome.
If you have any specific accessibility needs for a CRASSH event please get in touch. We will do our best to accommodate any requests.
