Dr Victor Teo is a political scientist whose research interests lie in International Relations and History of the Asia-Pacific, with particular emphasis on China and Japan. As an part of the team lead by Prof Heonik Kwon on “Beyond the Cold War: Toward a Community of Asia” project, Victor is interested in researching on two broad sub-themes in Asian regionalism. The first is the impact that great power competition in the Indo-Pacific has on the Asian community and the second is the implications of China’s Belt and Road initiative on regionalization efforts. He is currently working on a monograph that examines how different Asian countries respond to the rise of China and the corresponding Sino-US rivalry in the Trumpian era.
