29 May 2018 5:00pm - 7:00pm Seminar room SG1, Alison Richard Building

Description

Professor Ola Sigurdson (University of Gothenburg)
Dr David Trippett (Music, University of Cambridge)

This panel looks at the ways in which the divine is performed – God made man, and how humanity shapes its own image at the hand of prevailing cultures – man made in the image of man. The panel takes its cue from the disciplines art, music and theology, for the conceptualisation of how bodies are refracted either from religious dictums and, or, from cultural norms. The Swedish philosopher of religion, Professor Ola Sigurdson will be joined by the musicologist and cultural historian, Dr David Trippett.
