Description

This workshop will provide a hands-on introduction to the concepts, methods and tools of network analysis using examples from digital archival data. We will cover the collection and preparation of data, analysis and problems in interpretation.

Key themes for the session:

  • What types of network are there?
  • Network data in the humanities
  • Network visualisation
  • Quantitative network analysis

Participants will need to bring their own laptop and instructions will be sent out closer to the workshop about installing software for use during the session.

Please note, this workshop is open to graduate students and staff at the University of Cambridge and is part of the Machine Reading the Archive digital methods programme/. Registered programme participants have priority for booking, however other Cambridge staff and students interested in attending should contact Dr Anne Alexander for more information about availability of spaces.
