5 Mar 2014 4:15pm - 6:15pm CRASSH Meeting Room

Description

Roundtable discussion with Mellon CDI Visiting Fellow, Professor Mary Poovey (NYU).

CRASSH postdoc forum invites postdoctoral researchers across the humanities and social sciences to explore ideas around interdisciplinarity with Professor Mary Poovey reflecting on intersections in her own work across literature and economics. What role might we as postdocs play in shaping the future of the humanities, and how will disciplinary boundaries – or not – figure in this shifting landscape. A short related article and a podcast will be pre circulated to registered participants a week in advance as a starting point for the session. Mary Poovey is Samuel Rudin University Professor of the Humanities and Professor of English at NYU. Her recent work examines the emergence of disciplines, and financial crises, past and present.

Places are limited and registration is required.  Please book your place using the online registratrion link on this page. Refreshments will be provided.
