This short workshop will provide you with advice on handling images for research purposes, with a focus on how to find, store, share, access and catalogue both online images and those you have created yourself.  An expert panel of researchers and image librarians will share their experience in dealing with the challenges of managing digital image collections, and provide advice on best practice in building a personal image collection for your research.

Topics covered will include:

  • a general introduction to the storage, cataloguing and use of a personal digital image data-base for post-graduate research
  • an introduction to the ARTstor image database
  • a guide to requesting copyright for publication of digital images.
