CVs for academic jobs – workshop

Description

An opportunity to fine-tune your CV with impartial help from peers. This workshop will help you to present your research, teaching, presentation, and publication experience effectively when applying for academic positions.

Everyone who signs up will be sent in advance a copy (if they don’t already have one) of the revised and expanded Careers Service publication, CVs and Cover Letters for PhDs and Postdocs (2011). Participants will be expected to have read relevant sections before the session, in order to save time on the day.

At this workshop, participants will be asked to share and comment on each others’ CVs. In addition, if you submit your CV in advance, you will receive individual comment on your material from the workshop leader, Dr Steve Joy (Careers Adviser for Research Staff in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences).
