Jan-Willem van de Ven, Dutch-born Jan-Willem joined the EBRD in August 2003. He has been appointed as the Head of the Secretariat of the € 190 million EBRD – EIB Multilateral Carbon Credit Fund. Prior to this he was involved as a banker and contributed his expertise in carbon finance, energy efficiency and renewables to EBRD projects. Jan-Willem has over ten years of experience in the development of sustainable energy projects from Central America to Eastern Europe, as well as in the related policy development. He plays an active role in the international policy dialogue for climate change protection and the promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy. Prior to EBRD he worked as Innovation Manager with Dutch utility company Essent. He has a M.Sc degree in Technology & Society International Technological Development Science from the Eindhoven University of Technology and a B.Eng in Business Engineering from the Eindhoven Higher Technical School.
