24 May 2011 9:30am - 12:45pm CRASSH Seminar Room

Description

Registration and refreshments are at 9.30; the session begins at 9.45.

Selection processes for most positions, whether in or beyond academia, require you to do some form of ‘job talk’: a short presentation to a mixed audience about your aptness for the role. You may be asked to make it directly relevant to the job description, or do a talk about your own work. You can create your own group to practise, and should do so (it’s a different task from a seminar or conference paper), but this session provides you with a non-threatening and supportive audience, of peers and more senior colleagues, who will give you feedback.

Booking is essential, please use the link to the Careers Service diary on the right of the webpage (Raven log-in required).
