19 May 2011 12:00pm - 2:00pm CRASSH, 17 Mill Lane

Description

Coordinator – Bernhard Dusch

Design affects all aspects of the built environment, from infrastructure to buildings to products. Design, therefore, also plays a central role in the development of a sustainable built environment. This seminar will start at a philosophical level by looking at aspects of sustainable design in architectural history. It will then consider the links between the products and services of businesses and the impacts of these businesses upon society. Finally, it will move to the micro level and consider the behaviour of designers and how their behaviour could be geared toward sustainability through the application of appropriate tools.

Open to all.  No registration required.
