12 Nov 2010 12:30pm - 2:30pm CRASSH 17 Mill Lane

Description

All Welcome
To register for this workshop, please email Michelle stating which theme/s or group/s you would be interested in joining.  If you cannot make the date but would like to be kept informed of developments connected to a particular theme, please email as above and let us know.

This meeting follows on from the 21 October workshop at which Shearer West (AHRC) presented to a necessarily limited number  of Cambridge researchers on the AHRC's Emerging Themes. This and future meetings are open to all who are interested. Sandwiches will be provided.

The meeting will begin with a whole-group general discussion for about 45 minutes, followed by break-out groups relating to the four themes:  Digital Transformations, Care for the Future, Translating Cultures, Science in Culture.  Funding is available for Research Networks and Fellowships under the AHRC's Highlight Notice, which is due to remain in place until April 2011.  Applications via the highlight notice can be made at any time and the purpose is to:  'help to build capacity for the themes and inform their future development, for example by feeding back progress to the relevant subject team at the AHRC, AHRC representatives attending events related to the award, or through coordinated activities organised by the AHRC.  They will also be expected to produce a short report at the end of the award summarising the outcomes of the work undertaken and the potential for the future development of the theme, for example by highlighting potential innovative new multi-disciplinary research, partnership or knowledge exchange opportunities under the theme.   For further information, see Funding Opportunity.

To register for this workshop, please email Michelle stating which theme/s or group/s you would be interested in joining.
