Documentary film-maker Liz Mermin (The Beauty Academy of Kabul, Office Tigers, Shot in Bombay) will show and talk about her work, past, present, and future. Team Qatar, which follows five teens from the world’s richest country as they are initiated into the subculture of high-school debating in preparation for the world championships in Washington, DC, will be broadcast shortly.
This event is part of the Screen Media Research Seminar series

The purpose of these seminars is to encourage as broad a debate as possible about 'screen media' (primarily film and TV) and the cultures in which they are embedded.
Meetings are held on alternate Tuesdays during term-time, 5pm to 6.30pm at CRASSH.
