A study into problems of translating the poetic image, with particular reference to the mystical poems of the 14th century Persian poet, Hafez.

Convenor: Jila Peacock (New Hall)

Jila Peacock is currently a Visiting Scholar at New Hall where her work is on permanent display as part of the New Hall Collection of Women's Art. She is a recipient of an AHRB award to undertake research on Islamic Calligraphy and the poetry of Hafez. A series of her monographs, based on the anonymous lyric poem The Seafarer, are currently on display at CRASSH. Her work may also be found at www.jilapeacock.co.uk
