Conversation is a new focus for researchers investigating young children's developing understanding of their social worlds. This workshop brings together a remarkable group of internationally recognised UK researchers in the field. The papers are organised around three themes: family talk and children's acquisition of a theory of mind; children's conversations with other key figures (fathers, siblings, peers, teachers); and conversations within atypical and at-risk families.
