10 Dec 2005 All day CRASSH

Description

CRASSH, 17 Mill Lane, Cambridge

The Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH) at the University of Cambridge will be five years old in December 2005. To mark this occasion, the outgoing Director, Ludmilla Jordanova, and Adrian Pabst are organising a one-day conference on The Future of Interdisciplinarity on 10 December 2005 in Cambridge. There will be opportunities to reflect on what has been accomplished and what the future holds, both for the Centre in particular and for interdisciplinarity more generally. The objective of the conference, then, is to encourage the critical appraisal of existing interdisciplinary work and to explore alternative methods of research. On the basis of 20-minute presentations and discussions, our aim is to assess the insights and the limits of current approaches and to formulate specific suggestions for the future theory and practice of interdisciplinarity
