Defining the Field: Themes in Contemporary China Studies
12-15 April 2007
CRASSH, 17 Mill Lane, Cambridge

The rapid transformations taking place in China today, with the prominent position recently achieved by the country in global politics and economy, have touched off a research boom in the social sciences, humanities, sciences, and also in other areas. However, research appears divided between the disciplines whose mutual isolation often leads to duplication of work, preventing the dissemination of research results.

This conference will identify key themes in contemporary China studies, bringing together innovative work from different disciplines, in order to forge links between researchers in different fields.

Further details of this conference can be found here.
