Imaging the Arctic

Nick Cobbing (Photojournalist and Photographic Artist)

Nick's work focuses on landscape and ecology, with a particular concentration on the Arctic. His work “Surface Tension”, consisting of stunning photographs of the Greenland ice cap taken from the air, received two major photographic awards and multiple publications. He has just returned from the most recent Cape Farewell expedition to Greenland, a photo from which featured in TIME magazine's 'Pictures of the Year 2007'. Nick will present a slideshow of his photos and talk about the process and problems of documenting the process of climate change.

 

This event is part of the Cultures of Climate Change Research Group Seminar Series.

 

Meetings are held on alternate Mondays in term, 5pm to 7.00pm at CRASSH.
