Bruce is a doctoral candidate in systematic theology at the University of Edinburgh, researching the place and purpose of Christology in the theological method of Herman Bavinck (1854–1921). He has recently published articles in the International Journal of Systematic Theology, Reformed Theological Review, Calvin Theological Journal, and Stellenbosch Theological Journal and is currently editing volume of Bavinck’s university orations. Originally from Australia, Bruce is a graduate of Moore Theological College. Bruce has also studied piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the Weimar Hochschule für Musik and derives great pleasure both from the music and the theology of the nineteenth century.
