Shuge Wei is a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Culture, History and Language, Australian National University. Her research interests include China’s media history, Sino-Japanese War and memory, political culture of the Guomindang government, and grassroots movements in Taiwan and China. She published in distinguished journals including Modern Asian Studies and Twentieth-Century China. She is the author of News under Fire: China’s Propaganda against Japan in the English-Language Press, 1928–1941. She is a research associate of Heidelberg University and Shih Hsin University in Taiwan.
