Imke van Heerden holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of York, UK. Her research in contemporary South African literature (video) was supported by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in addition to a Doctoral Fellowship courtesy of York's Humanities Research Centre. In January 2016 she was announced the overall winner of the YorkTalks PhD Research Spotlight Competition.
After more than a decade of involvement with the intellectual magazine LitNet, she joined the CRASSH team in 2017 to manage the Centre's communications.
