Ramit is a computational social scientist. His research focuses on the distributive effects of energy and climate justice using social data science. He is interested in exploring the asymmetries of technological solutionism for climate repair. He has a background in electrical engineering and sustainable development.

He is currently a Laudes Foundation Research Associate and a Gates Scholar at the Centre for Natural Material Innovation at Cambridge Architecture, and a member of the Energy Policy Research Group at Cambridge Judge Business School.

Ramit is also a visiting scholar at the International Energy Agency’s Energy Efficiency Division, working on the social dimensions of digitalisation. Methodologically, he uses natural language processing, machine learning and AI to contextualise decisions for distributive justice.

At the Minderoo Centre, he is working on examining environmental consequences of online activities towards climate change.
