About

Shauna is an interdisciplinary researcher working across experimental psychology, computer science and linguistics. She completed her PhD, ‘Taking a Stance: experimenting with disagreement’, in the Computational Linguistics Lab and Cognitive Science Research Group at Queen Mary University of London. Her research interests focus on interactional accounts of how informational and opinionated content is communicated. In particular, she is interested in how epistemicity and evidentiality are linguistically encoded, and uses this as a lens for understanding how information is processed and circulated in an increasingly technologically mediated society.
