Cambridge Interdisciplinary Reproduction Forum (CIRF)
Evening Seminars
These seminars provide an opportunity to invite academics working on reproduction around the world to present their work to an interdisciplinary audience in Cambridge.
The seminars run from 5-6.30pm, with usually a 40-45 minute presentation, and a 15-20 minute response by a discussant, followed by 30 minutes for general questions and answers.
CIRF has been running a very successful programme of evening seminars for the past four years, which has showcased a diverse and fascinating range of reproduction related research, on the themes of generation to assisted reproductive technologies, eugenics to gender relations, embodiment to parenting, and beyond. For a list of the past seminars, please see the ‘Past Events’ section.
For details of upcoming Evening Seminars, please see the CIRF Programme 2010-11.
Everyone is welcome to
attend.
Work-in-progress Seminars
These lunchtime seminars provide an opportunity for CIRF members to present a piece of work-in-progress and to receive detailed feedback and discussion on it. The work presented may be a draft PhD chapter or paper in progress which will be circulated beforehand, but the opportunity may also be used to practice conference presentations, or to discuss the division of materials within the PhD, etc.
The aim of these sessions is to provide an informal and friendly atmosphere in which we can practice our academic skills and benefit from the interdisciplinary expertise and perspectives of our colleagues.
For details of upcoming Work-in-Progress Seminars, please see the CIRF Programme 2010-11.
Everyone is welcome to attend – although you may wish to check with the presenter regarding any papers that are being circulated.
Please feel free to bring your lunch.
