Logic was central to the intellectual cultures of both the Christian Middle Ages and of Islam in the years up to 1500. Christian and Muslim scholars drew on the same heritage of late ancient thought, making the Aristotelian logic an important opportunity for comparative work between the two cultural traditions. This AHRC-funded project is designed to allow young and emerging scholars to take up important specific investigations needed to advance this area of study; their work will, more generally, encourage careful and well-informed comparison between medieval Christian and Islamic cultures.
