RAPM (Rossiyskaya assotsiatsiya proletarskikh musykantov): life after death

RAPM (Rossiyskaya assotsiatsiya proletarskikh musykantov) was founded in 1923 and has been dismissed by the resolution of Central Committee of Communist Party [VKP (b)] which was published on the 23rd of April, 1932. But its real existence was not limited to this short period. RAPM has concentrated the essence of the Russian communist ideology in the field of the literature and arts. From this point of view the climax in the history of RAPM proved to be the resolution “On the opera Velikaya druzhba” of 1948 in which the principles of the socialist realism in the music had been proclaimed, more later than in the literature and other arts. Moreover, influence of this doctrine proceeded the next decades and can be tracked up to the 20th century end.
