Interdisciplinary Dissertation Seminar @ CRASSH

2.30-4.00pm on Mondays, beginning 13th October
CRASSH, 17 Mill Lane, Cambridge

CRASSH is committed to supporting researchers at all stages of their careers. Each term the Director convenes a dissertation seminar for first or second year PhD students who would like to work in a small group to explore the nature of interdisciplinary research. Seminars consist of students' presentations of their work alongside short theoretical or interdisciplinary readings.

Numbers are necessarily limited to allow students to present their work and to allow for discussion. Each group works in its own way, discussing aspects of interdisciplinarity - practical, methodological, and conceptual - that are of concern to its members.

The theme for MT 2008 is 'Cosmopolitanism'.

If you are interested in taking part in this dissertation seminar, which will be led by Mary Jacobus (Director of CRASSH), please send your details to Anna Malinowska (apm50@cam.ac.uk) no later than 7 October, including the following information:

   * Name
   * Contact details (e.g. college and e-mail addresses)
   * Faculty/department and PhD year
   * A brief account of your research topic including its interdisciplinary aspects
   * Name of your supervisor (if possible discuss your participation with your supervisor)

Seminars take place in either the Seminar Room or Meeting Room at CRASSH on Monday afternoons. The seminar can accommodate up to 16 students, with a wait list. A similar or continuing dissertation seminar will run in LT 09.
