Julian Stallabrass (Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art, Courtauld Institute of Art)

Julian Stallabrass is an art historian, photographer and curator working on the relations between contemporary art, mass culture and political issues. His books include Gargantua: Manufactured Mass Culture (Verso 1999), Internet Art (Tate 2003), Art Incorporated (OUP 2004) and Memory of Fire (Photoworks 2013). In this lecture, Professor Stallabrass will revisit his curated exhibition Art and Money Online (Tate Britain, 2001), which explored the early impact of commercialisation on the Internet.
