12 Feb 2016 9:30am - 10:30am SG1, Alison Richard Building, 7 West Road, Cambridge

Description

A free event, but registration is essential.

Are you interested in communicating your research to a wide audience? Would you like to get your work read by an audience of tens – possibly hundreds – of thousands of readers?

The University of Cambridge is now a member of The Conversation, a website that brings together ‘academic rigour and journalistic flair’. The Conversation has already published dozens of articles from Cambridge academics on subjects as diverse as bilingualism, monsters, earthquakes and sperm. Each of these stories is written by an academic and edited by The Conversation team before publishing on its site – and often re-published across the globe on sites such as Huffington Post, IFLScience and even the Daily Mail.

Meet Jonathan Este, one of The Conversation’s editorial team and find out all about the website – what makes a good article, how you can pitch a story to them and what to expect.
