11 Nov 2014 4:00pm - 5:30pm CLAS Meeting Room, ARB

Description

Join Dr Clare Jackson to discuss the opportunities and challenges of talking about your research on television.

Clare Jackson is a historian and Senior Tutor at Trinity Hall. She presented a three-part BBC2 television series on 'The Stuarts', broadcast in summer 2014, and is also a regular contributor to Melvyn Bragg's 'In Our Time' on BBC radio 4.

This is part of the Postdoc Forum series 'Talking to..' In Easter term 2014, Dr Steve Joy ran a session on ‘Crafting your Research Narrative’ for the CRASSH postdoc forum.

It raised a wealth of intellectual and career related questions about the ways in which post-docs can shape and present our research for different audiences and media. Our Michaelmas term programme builds on these questions and ideas, and focuses in more detail on communicating research and presenting yourself to specific groups, essential skills whatever your career plans after the postdoc.

The event is free to attend but registration is necessary. To register your place please go to the online booking link on this page.
