Description
Most postdocs have probably heard the panic-inducing mantra that we must ‘publish or perish’. But there is much more to making your research matter than simply getting it into print.
This hour long discussion with Professor Peter Mandler will explore publishing trajectories for postdocs in the arts, social sciences and humanities, in relation to research assessments/REF and career development.
What: a monograph? A journal article? An edited book?
Where: open access? Which journal? Which press?
When: is the timing of the publication significant?
Peter Mandler is Professor of Modern Cultural History at Cambridge, President of the Royal Historical Society, and sits on the History Panel for the Research Excellence Framework 2014.
