4 Mar 2014 6:00pm - 8:30pm Arts Picturehouse Cinema, 38-39 St Andrew's Street Cambridge

Description

Ken Loach’s 1990 thriller, staring Brian Cox and Frances McDormand, tells the story of two investigators trying to find out the truth about the murder of an American civil rights lawyer in Northern Ireland.  Before long they stumble on a far larger conspiracy involving the British security services that must be covered up at all costs.  A deeply political film with a strong agenda of its own, Hidden Agenda echoes many of the real conspiracies and enduring conspiracy theories that bedevil the recent history of Northern Ireland.

With an introduction from historian Tony Craig and film producer David Hickman, who will discuss conspiracies involving the British secret state and their representation on film.
