Shadi Bartsch (Helen A Regenstein Distinguished Service Professor in Classics at the University of Chicago) will talk about how the Chinese are reading our Classics.  But what are they doing with them? Shadi Bartsch offers a rare glimpse into alien appropriations of the ancient West in cotemporary China.
