Description

This briefing will provide information and advice for potential applicants from the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities to the Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship scheme in 2011.

Speakers:
Professor Jon Parry, Director of the Newton Trust
Dr Ildiko Csengei, Leverhulme Early Career Fellow, Faculty of English

The Cambridge Research Office

Professor Parry will speak about the Newton Trust's role in providing matching funding for Cambridge applicants to the scheme, who will be selected through an internal competition closing in January 2011. Please note that many departments will also have their own internal deadlines and selection process before submitting applications to the Newton Trust.  Please check the Leverhulme website for information about the scheme to confirm you are eligible to apply.

The event is free, but as a light buffet lunch will be available, please book in advance via  this link on the Careers Service website (requires Raven log-in).

Postdoctoral researchers have priority for bookings for this event, although late-stage PhD students are also welcome, provided you will be in a position to apply for the 2011 competition. Other staff involved in supporting Leverhulme applications are also very welcome. Please note, this briefing is only for potential applicants from the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, although the Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships scheme is open to applicants from all disciplines.

Organised by the CRASSH Postdoctoral Researcher Forum and the Careers Service.
