Managing Heritage, Building Peace: Museums, memorialisation and the uses of memory in Kenya
 

Dr Lotte Hughes is an historian of Africa and empire, whose current research interests focus on heritage, memory and post-conflict reconciliation issues in Kenya. Based in the Ferguson Centre for African and Asian Studies, she is the Principal Investigator of a three-year research project entitled 'Managing Heritage, Building Peace: Museums, memorialisation and the uses of memory in Kenya.' Dr Hughes is also a member of the History Department of the Open University's Faculty of Arts; a Council member of the African Studies Association of the UK (ASAUK); and a member of the editorial board of the Historical Association of Kenya (HAK).
