Building Accessibility

At CRASSH we endeavour to make our activities as accessible as possible, in line with the BPA/SWIP guidelines on accessible conferences and events.

CRASSH is located in the  Alison Richard Building (ARB) which is on the University of Cambridge’s Sidgwick Site and has step-free access. The main seminar rooms (SG1 and SG2) are located on the ground floor of the building and accessible toilets are available on all floors. Disabled parking is available outside the Alison Richard Building.

General accessibility information about the Sidgwick Site, including disabled parking, is available on the University’s Disability Resource Centre website.

We would typically be able to waive registration fees for personal assistants to disabled people, and service animals are welcome.

If you have any specific accessibility needs for a CRASSH event please get in touch. We will do our best to accommodate any requests.

Please contact us at events@crassh.cam.ac.uk.

Online Event Accessibility

If you have specific requirements to be able to attend or participate in an online event at CRASSH, please get in touch with our Events Manager.

Website Accessibility

CRASSH is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

Web Accessibility Initiative

This website strives to achieve accessibility standards set out by the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (WCAG 1.0).

The guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web become more usable for all people.

The CRASSH website is designed to display correctly using current (and future) browsers being created using standards compliant HTML mark-up and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets).

Exceptions

Whilst CRASSH complies with known accessibility and usability guidelines it is not always possible to do so to the letter of each checkpoint. In light of this, we are continually developing solutions that conform to the spirit of each checkpoint, bringing together a high standard of practicality throughout the website.
