Director of CRASSH

CRASSH seeks to appoint a Director to succeed the current Director Simon Goldhill, who steps down at the end of 2017-18. Established at the University of Cambridge in 2001 CRASSH is now one of the world’s largest interdisciplinary research institutions. Under Professor Goldhill’s visionary leadership, the Centre has grown into a vibrant research community of over 50 researchers working on 10 major research projects, alongside a programme of research development that runs over 300 events a year. The Directorship of CRASSH offers those interested in furthering interdisciplinary studies at Cambridge, across the arts, social sciences and humanities, an unparalleled opportunity to take a lead in the activities for which CRASSH is now well known. 

The appointment is offered as an 80% secondment from current post for a period of three years, with the possibility of renewal for a further two years. Applications, including a statement of interest and curriculum vitae should be made to the Directorship Appointments Committee, CRASSH, Alison Richard Building, 7 West Road or via email to the Administrator, ch335@cam.ac.uk by Wednesday 19 April 2017.  Candidates are requested to nominate two referees (one of whom should be external to the University of Cambridge) and ask them to write to the Committee by the closing date.  In addition, a letter of support from the candidate’s Faculty should accompany applications. Interviews will be held during the week of 2 or 8 May 2017 (TBC). The appointment panel will be made up of members of the Centre’s Management Committee.
