A New Deputy Director for CRASSH

We are delighted to announce the appointment of a Deputy Director for CRASSH: Tim Lewens, Professor of Philosophy of Science. Tim will take up post from 1st September 2014, with particular responsibility for early career and research development areas, as well as contributing to the overall academic strategy and programming at CRASSH.

'This new post reflects CRASSH's phenomenal growth,' said Director Simon Goldhill. 'This stems from the tremendous momentum and reputation CRASSH built up in its first decade and, now, from CRASSH's great successes in winning major research grants and philanthropic funding. From October, we will have no fewer than 36 long-term postdoctoral researchers in situ at CRASSH – and, of course, we are working on some exciting new potential collaborations. So we are very much looking forward to welcoming Tim, whose work complements those in CRASSH brilliantly.'

Tim Lewens said: 'It's great to be joining CRASSH at this exciting time in its evolution. I've benefited enormously from participation in CRASSH's activities since it was founded and I'm thrilled at the prospect of having a closer involvement in its continuing development.'
